family

Late Tuesday night we had a tragedy in our family. I found out on Wednesday and flew home on the first plane I could back to the USA on Thursday, February 17th, 2011.

I don't want to talk much about it, but for me at least, it was nice to be home to be with my family. It was really comforting to know that wherever I am, home was/is only as far as a plane ride away.  We are one tight-knit rigby clan, and i am lucky to be part of such a loving, caring, strong, supportive family.

RIP uncle ken. god bless. i love you

the rigby clan.

Lacrosse Development Day

Lacrosse Development Day - January 27th, 2011

A couple weeks after I arrived we hosted a "Pop Lacrosse Development Day" which is basically beginners lacrosse for young girls over in england. Seven girls schools attended Lax DD. It was really successfull and generated a lot of positive PR for Prestfelde and continued generating some Lax buzz throughout the school and in the west midlands area.

FINALLY!!! My First Video Blog

Here it is...the moment i've been waiting for....My First Video Blog!

1. Don't Judge
2. I am playing around with the technology
3. Suggestions Welcome

I went into London last weekend to watch the Superbowl with a fellow Stag from the class of 09 Brooke! Her good friend who lives in Florence (from Seattle, Washington) was also visiting. We went out for a nice japanese dinner in Oxford Circus on Saturday night and woke up early on Sunday to do some touristy things. We saw Buckingham Palace and ventured down to Harrods to window shop for the rest of the day.

That night we watched the Superbowl at Sports Cafe in London! The link below is to the website in case anyone is interested...

It was filled with Americans, was a rowdy atmosphere, and an overall great night. We didn't make it in until 5am London time and I had to wake up at 830 am to catch a train back to Shrewsbury. Needless to say I am a tad knackered this week.

Team Wirral - Champions West London Cup 2011

This weekend I played in a lacrosse tournament in Liverpool hosted by the West London Lacrosse club! It was so much fun, and there was definitly some great lax going on. We won most of our games, but lost to the Welsh u19 National Team during regular play 4-3. Although they were younger, they were in great shape.  During the match, I kept getting into a little bit of a "disagreement" with a girl I was going up against on the draw. I wished Kylee was there to give her a stern talking to...

In the semifinals we played the host team and beat them 10-5. I FINALLY was able to cross off pizza goal (behind the back) on my bucket list. All was right in the world at the moment...

We made it to the finals where we had to face off again vs the Welsh. We won 5-3! It was a really close game. A bunch of the girls were crying after which of course made me smile.  It was a great weekend full of some good lacrosse.

Staglaxin' all over the world Renee.
